Tina Clancy had recently learned that she's a daughter of Saturn and must watch what she says when angry as a curse from her now not only makes things happen, but each one causes a consequence for herself which can be good or bad. And she wasn't given a rulebook in how to dispense justice with her newfound "gift."

She lives in an area referred to as The Zone, an area affected by an accident from Acme, a chemical plant. The Zone is a place where strange things are now commonplace and only those affected by the chemical flood, or are too poor to move, stick around. Well, there are a few others that stick around but they've got their own reasons for staying.

Tina had just passed the bar and is now officially a lawyer working as an intern for a judge when Acme appears to have another accident and green and pink chemical clouds cover the area putting a number of affected people into a coma. They can't let Acme sweep this one under the rug.

There is plenty going on in this second book that pits the inhabitants of The Zone against the Vanderventer family that owns Acme. Fighting, kidnapping, breaking and entering, sexual tension, humor, plenty of emotions and a great deal of moral contemplation, especially as Tina attempts to work out just what she should and shouldn't do.

The author does a great job with building an interesting world in the Zone, as well as some unique characters. We learn more about Andre in this book and a number of things occur to advance the overall storyline. And for the most part I really like the morality angle which comes to play not just in Tina's personal life, but with what Acme is attempting to do.

But I've got to say that I'm downgrading my review to a 3 star because so much of the story is spent on Tina's personal struggle with what she should or shouldn't do. Is what the person she's judging really being evil or just doing what they're told? Do they deserve to go to Hell or could another punishment be appropriate? And since she gets rewarded--in either a good or bad way--for each one she does, she's got to be really careful on what she wishes for. Now all of this makes sense and is important as she grows and learns from it, but it can be a struggle to read as this occurs a great deal throughout the book. I would expect to see less of this as the series progresses.

Overall I liked the story and thought it was a good sequel to Boyfriend From Hell, leaving me anxious to see what's going to happen next.

Damn Him to Hell was a wonderful continuation of Tina’s story. I thought it was better than book one. This was a hard book to put down!

The opening of the book is great; it captures the reader’s attention in the first line.

Jamie Quaid makes it easy for readers to jump into the series, even if they haven’t read the first book. Even with the history and setting descriptions she injects into the story, it doesn’t lag. She tells you what you need to know and quickly moves on with the story.

A few times, I had a vague feeling that something was missing or contradictory, but I couldn’t place my finger on it. Since I couldn’t figure it out, I’m not letting that affect my opinion of the book.

I was confused at times about Milo, Tina’s cat. He was sometimes big as a bobcat, and other times he was small enough to put in her pocket or messenger bag. If he can change his size, that’s fine (and actually cool) but it wasn’t clear to me if that was the case. This is such a small thing, though, and I can overlook it.

I enjoyed the sexual tension between Tina and Andre. I was surprised at Tina’s restraint. I guess I’m used to paranormal romance where they jump into bed after a day of knowing the person. Don’t expect that to happen in this series. Tina has urges and needs, but she doesn’t let herself act on them.

There’s a lot of action in this book. There’s also a lot of Tina deliberating the morality of her decisions and behavior. Some people might be put off by how much she dwells on whether she will be rewarded or punished for her actions.

The best thing, in my opinion, is the novelty of the story. It’s a mix of science fiction and supernatural contemporary fantasy. This is one book where you can find a mad scientist and a demon pages apart from one another. It’s also very original in that Tina isn’t a creature. Her power comes from her father, Saturn. I’m not sure how a planet fathers a child, but that’s okay, because Tina doesn’t understand it either.

I thought Damn Him to Hell was an excellent book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Both books in series are great- buy it and you are in for a treat, what more can I write?
The book was entertaining. The characters have personality. I have read all of the books in the Saturn's Daughters series and loved them all.

A little out there, but Baltimore is a little strange in places. You have to suspend all belief in the real world.
This was a very entertaining story. I really enjoyed the plot, characters, and the unique powers. They're no vampires here but it's a different kind of urban fantasy.
