Pepper Pace has fast become one of my favorite authors. I find myself highlighting and reading her books over and over…Crash, Juicy, The Throw Away Year etc. I've made it my mission to read everything she has written. I was so disappointed with this story that had I read it first, I would have never read another book by her. It was disjointed, lacked a real ending, and the characters lacked depth and likeability. I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out what I read and what she was trying to do.Product details

This is so beautiful it's ridiculous. I don't find it to be creepy because we all know Mrs. pace can be out there. I have no words. I really stayed away from this story just bc of hearing the reviews of the age difference but I absolutely love everything this woman makes and couldn't resist.
I loved this book. Not your typical "romance" and definitely not for everyone. What I like about this author is that I've probably read 7 or 8 of her stories and unless it's a sequel, the stories are so different and involve such different elements that you'd be hard-pressed to be able to define that you are reading a book by the same author. The only common factor for me is that they are all really, really good. I think it's her unlikely hero and heroine's that make her stories so addictive. This story would be the most unlikely couple of all -thus far and with that said, this book made me bawl like a baby - AWESOME!
I purchased this book while at work today (3/8/12) I finished reading this book tonight at 811 pm. That says it all! I have said it before, but gladly say it again....this is the works of a literay genius! I honestly couldn't stop until I got to the end! I was intrigued through the entire book! If you don't read this, I promise you it is your lost! My suggestion to you is to read everything by Pepper Pace! I didn't think she could write a story better than Wheels of Steele but this is right up there with the WOS Trilogy! Did I say I love this book! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I am really not into paranormal stories much, but since this is Pepper Pace I decided to give it a go and I am so glad that I did. I couldn't put it down and was amazed at how she came up with a story like this. Being so different is why I like Ms. Pace's writings.

I have read reviews that the age difference in the characters disturbed many readers, but I do understand that the age difference was physical only. In the spirit/dream world that both Leslie and Angel reside in he is much older than her. I like to believe that he requested to be born so he could be with her in the physical world because he loved her that much. And she felt she was not lovable. In a lot of ways her young tragic life broke my heart because I know many go thru those issues. You could feel the emotions playing out from both main characters as they were telling their stories. It is really an awesome story to read.
As far as the supporting characters, I really liked James and was saddened for him. It would be interesting to read his story as well. <--Hint Hint! )
Okay, this has to be THE MOST WEIRD & off kilter book that I've read by Ms. Pace so far. But that still didn't keep this one from turning out to be awesome.
Whether it was the main characters, the chemistry between them, or the oddly placed yet somehow still fitting & gripping plot; I don't know. Maybe it's all the above. But in any case, I still loved it.
There is heartbreak, confusion & uncertainty like none you've ever witnessed, here. But you're still left with that unwavering all too familiar feeling of "True love knows no bounds" and that all things happen for a reason.
I would recommend this read. It's definitely a different type of flow from Ms. Pace but still a good rhythm.
When I saw the cover of this book a long time ago, for some reason that, and the description just wasn't grabbing me. Since I was down to being left with only having not read this, the second vampire book and the W O S series I decided to give this a try. At first when I started reading this book I was a little leery, it just seemed weird and a little depressing. The the second half of the book had me flat out crying. I hadn't realized how sad I was at how lonely and sad She was. This story was absolutely brilliant in so many ways. I don't understand how this book does not have many, many five star ratings. I don't want to or can't really explain too much about this book. It probably wouldn't come out right anyway. All I can say is that by the time I was finished reading it, the things that I felt would stop me from enjoying the fullness of everything that was going on wasn't even a thought. Do yourself a favor, Pepper Pace fans and newbies alike, GIVE THIS A TRY! I'm sorry that I waited so long. Once again, thank you Ms. Pace, I should have known )
This has got to be the most confusing story I have ever read and it's from Pepper Pace, an author whose stories are on top of my to be read list. I liked the premise but the execution of the dream versus reality tales I found more discombobulated than anything else. Also there were chronological errors in terms of age. One I found was In 2002 Leslie is said to have celebrated her 30th birthday, however in 2006 she's said to be 36 yrs old.... shouldn't she be 34years old? There were other timelines that didn't quite add up as well.
As for the age difference, in the context of the story and how things started out with Lesli and Angel/Alan I had no issues with it...at least, from what I could comprehend, the reason for their connection was credible.
Is this a paranormal pseudo love story? I didn't really get much of the raw connection that is beloved from all of Pepper's heroes & heroines. I guess one of the reasons could again be the age difference factor. There are so many unanswered questions about Angel.
Honestly the only reason I decided to finish the novel was because of James.. there was just something about his character that made me really feel for him and what ultimately happened in the end. I would have loved more written about him.. I wonder if Pepper will do a follow up story on him- hopefully without the dream versus reality storyline.
